Key Insights from Microsoft XDR Partner Training

Introduction

On Thursday, 13 November, Resilix was invited to the partner exclusive Microsoft XDR training at their office in Schiphol. Microsoft provided a clear and unfiltered view of where their security ecosystem stands today, where it is heading, and how partners can deliver real added value on top of it. Below are the key insights from the session.

Microsoft's XDR Strategy

Microsoft’s XDR strategy is built around a simple but powerful principle: security improves when signals are connected.

During the training, it became clear how strongly Microsoft is investing in unified detection, correlation and automated response across endpoints, identity, email, cloud workloads and SaaS applications. Instead of relying on isolated tools, XDR provides one security portal and one source of truth, enabling faster investigations and more accurate threat detection.

Because Microsoft learns from attacks across all customer tenants, improvements in detection and response immediately benefit every organization.

At the core of this ecosystem are technologies like Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office, Defender for Cloud Apps, Entra ID Protection and Defender for Identity. These solutions go well beyond traditional antivirus or basic email filtering. They combine behavioral analytics, identity risk profiling, cloud app governance and posture management to eliminate blind spots that attackers routinely exploit.

This makes XDR a critical component for organizations aiming to move away from a fragmented security stack toward an integrated, intelligence-driven defense model.

Licensing

For partners and customers, licensing remains an important dimension. A highly practical resource highlighted during the training is m365maps.com, a website that visually compares Microsoft licensing plans in a clear, structured way.

It helps determine which security capabilities are included in E3, E5 or add-on SKUs, and makes building a business case easier when customers are consolidating tools or upgrading their Microsoft security posture.

What now?

There is a good chance that your current Microsoft licenses already include this XDR service!

-> Want to know more? Resilix to the rescue!

Resilix builds on Microsoft’s security capabilities by delivering the services that make the technology effective in real-world environments: onboarding, hardening, configuration, detection use-case development, integration with non-Microsoft products, continuous tuning and incident response support.

Microsoft provides the platform, but every customer environment is unique. That is where Resilix adds value. By combining Microsoft XDR with our expertise, customers gain a fully operational, context-aware security capability that is tailored to their actual risks and operational need.
